Hi! My Name is Olivia. I’m 9 years old and go to Sparks Elementary. I love supporting Baltimore Hunger Project! BHP helps kids in our area who need food the most. I think this is really important because kids need food to learn, grow, and play with their friends! I learned about BHP from my mom when COVID started. She decided my family should do something to help others. Since then, I’ve used proceeds from my bracelet making business to shop for Peanut Butter & Jelly. My Girl Scout troop wrote 1,000 notes of cheer for BHP in the fall. In the winter my family made snack bags and in the spring I collected new books for the BHP back to school backpacks. This summer I made a video and a flyer about BHP’s most needed foods. My mom helped me put them on social media and I was able to collect 1,600 individual food items from my neighbors, family, and friends. It was so much fun dropping the food off at BHP’s new warehouse!! Last month my best friend, little brother, and I raised $420 to make birthday packs so other kids can have fun celebrating. Baltimore Hunger Project inspires me to do good in my community. It feels great to help other kids. I think Ms. Lynne is so nice and I think it’s really important that everyone feels loved and gets what they need all the time.
