Baltimore, MD * June 12, 2019 – –
La Food Marketa, located at 2620 Quarry Lake Drive, Baltimore, MD 21209 will be hosting the 3rd annual Tacopalooza on July 3rd 2019 from 5:00 to 10:00 PM. Tickets are $75 for all you can eat and drink. Menu items include tacos, grilled meats and fishes, street vegetables, and of course, chips and dips. Tickets can be purchased on EventBrite through the La Food Marketa website (www.lafoodmarketa.com).
The idea for Tacopalooza was developed in 2017 by La Food Marketa’s owner Chad Gauss and executive chef, Johntay Bedingfield. The two wanted to throw a party for the community, but with an element of giving back to Baltimore, something they both love to do. Gauss says the reason he hosts Tacopalooza “is so the community can experience joy and happiness. The giving back piece gives us (the company) fulfillment.” It’s a win – win.
The beneficiary of this year’s Tacopalooza is Baltimore Hunger Project, a grassroots organization, founded by Baltimore native Lynne Kahn. As their website states, “Baltimore Hunger Project is dedicated to eliminating the growing problem of weekend childhood hunger by feeding bodies and minds. We are bridging the gap between Friday and Monday by consistently providing weekend food packages to children identified as food insecure, in a compassionate and dignified manner. We raise awareness about the effects of hunger by establishing partnerships with community members, other organizations, and decision makers.” Kahn says “I was excited and honored Baltimore Hunger Project was selected as the beneficiary of La Food Marketa’s 3rd annual Tacopalooza. By highlighting our work and it’s impact in our community, it will bring greater awareness to the growing problem of weekend childhood hunger. It will also give us the opportunity to increase our support for coming school year. We are so grateful!”
This year guests will experience music by DJ Neil Paul and décor by The Sentimental Fools and Emerald Event Design. Dane Spealman, State Farm Agent, will once again host the annual taco eating contest. Madison Short Photography will be on site to document the night.
Some of the other fun surprises in store are bull riding, photo booths, a tequila tasting station, local beers, and of course, our famous frose.
We hope you can join us for a fun party, while having an impact on a wonderful, local organization!
