For the past three years, Baltimore Hunger Project (BHP), Towson Elks and My New Book, Inc have proudly supported My Cozy Corner, an initiative created to bring dedicated spaces to BHP-supported schools. These Cozy Corners offer students a welcoming place to relax, read, and enjoy time with friends, addressing their emotional and mental well-being beyond academics.
A Lasting Resource for Student Well-Being
The Cozy Corners continue to provide a much-needed oasis for students dealing with the stresses of school and daily life. By offering a quiet, comfortable area filled with books, cozy seating, and games, we’re helping students find a reprieve in their busy days. The impact has been remarkable: students are using these spaces not just to unwind, but also to connect, read, and learn at their own pace.
Nurturing a Love for Reading and Community Support
Thanks to the ongoing support from Towson Elks and additional resources from My New Book, Inc, these spaces are stocked with books across various reading levels and interests. This easy access to books encourages students to read for pleasure, sparking imaginations and fostering literacy.
Three Years of Impact
Now in its third year, My Cozy Corner has grown into a valued part of our school communities, making a lasting difference in students’ lives. We are deeply grateful for the ongoing support of Towson Elks, My New Book, Inc, and our wider community. Together, we look forward to continuing this initiative and expanding its reach, providing even more students with a space to relax, learn, and thrive.
