I would like to introduce you to my friend and one of Baltimore Hunger Project’s incredible volunteers Mike Martin, who will be doing the most EXTRAORDINARY thing. He is walking across Spain on the El Camino de Santiago in honor of BHP’s children. This journey will take 1,000,000 steps over thirty days and Mike is hoping to raise $10,000. By making a donation for every step Mike takes (for example $100 for each 10,000 steps), you will be be ensuring our children can focus on their schoolwork and enjoy being a kid without the weight of hunger on their minds.
Warmly, Lynne
name is Mike Martin and I am proud to be a part of Baltimore Hunger Project where we are dedicated to eliminating the growing problem of weekend childhood hunger. Every week along with dedicated volunteers, I assist BHP with leading food packing sessions where a group of volunteers and I pack weekend food bags to deliver to children identified as food insecure.
Starting May 3, 2022, I will be embarking on Europe’s most well-known, busiest, oldest route: El Camino de Santiago. The Camino is an ancient pilgrimage that is walked each year by over 300,000 people from every corner of the world. As I walk across Spain over a 450-mile stretch, this journey should take me at least 30 days.
I am undertaking this trek of almost 1,000,000 steps to raise funds for the deserving children Baltimore Hunger Project supports. We currently serve over 1,500 students per week, but the sad truth is food insecurity remains a growing problem right in our own community. As part of my mission, I am dedicated to raising $10,000 for BHP and I need your help. Your donation allows our children to focus on schoolwork and enjoy being a kid without the weight of hunger on their minds. Please follow these easy steps to donate.

Take care,
Mike Martin
