Professional Bio: Bill is a retired corporate executive with extensive experience in finance and business leadership. Bill most recently served as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of W.R. Grace, a global publicly traded specialty chemical company. In this role, he led a global team of 200 professionals responsible for all aspects of finance.
What inspired you to join the BHP Board? Food insecurity is such a big problem in Maryland and it can have a debilitating effect on children’s physical and personal development. Baltimore Hunger Project’s mission to eliminate weekend hunger by providing food packages to those in need is making a big difference for thousands of children. Children are the most defenseless when it comes to fighting hunger and I am honored to have the opportunity to serve on this board and help the Baltimore Hunger Project achieve its mission.
What does fighting food insecurity mean to you? There are two parts to fighting food insecurity. First is finding ways to provide healthy food in an accessible and dignified way to those in need. Second is working with those in need to find pathways out of hunger so that they can ultimately do more to provide for themselves.
What is something you enjoy doing outside of work or volunteering? Traveling and spending time with family and friends.
Community Involvement:I currently serve on the Board of Directors of the Maryland Food Bank where I chaired the Audit and Finance Committee for 5 years. I also volunteer at the Church of the Nativity in Timonium as well as with my condo association.
