What inspired you to join the Baltimore Hunger Project Board? During the COVID-19 pandemic, I helped launch a LifeBridge Health partnership with Baltimore Hunger Project to ensure local children continued receiving meals during school closures. Since then, I have actively supported BHP through donation drives, packing sessions, and the Empowering Minds youth leadership program. Serving on the board allows me to further contribute to BHP’s mission to end childhood food insecurity in Baltimore.

What does fighting food insecurity mean to you? Fighting food insecurity means ensuring every child has consistent access to nutritious food. It’s also about driving sustainable, evidence-based solutions that tackle the root causes of hunger and promote health equity in our communities.

What is something you enjoy doing outside of work or volunteering? I enjoy gardening, spending time outdoors, and exploring nature with my family.

Community Involvement: BHP volunteer since 2020; Mentor for the Empowering Minds program 2023-2024, 2024-2025; During my time living in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, I developed and implemented a meal distribution project in collaboration with local members of the community, which continues to this day.
