Professional Background or Current Role: Producing Branch Manager at Fairway Independent Mortgage Corporation in Towson Maryland
Community Connections: I was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York and moved to Maryland to attend Morgan State University, graduating with a degree in Marketing. I’m married with four children and now reside in Baltimore County and work in Towson, Maryland. My parents always instilled in me the importance of giving back to our community, not as an option but as a privilege. Success in my eyes is not just about raising myself to a higher level but raising some else up at the same time. I have been inspired through my involvement with community initiatives and movements to do more and continue to impact all children in a positive way. It feels good to be of service and as a father to four children, I can’t imagine them ever going to school hungry or trying to figure out where their next meal is coming from.
Interest In Baltimore Hunger Project: I am honored to be a part of BHP because as Muhammed Ali used to always quote, “ Service to others is the rent you pay for your room here on earth.” I am passionate about children and doing my part to ensure that all of them have an equal opportunity to thrive regardless of their circumstances. The Baltimore Hunger Project started as a grass roots organization and even as the organization has continued to grow, it has remained true to its mission to not only strengthen children’s bodies and minds but also empower the communities in which they live in. As a volunteer and Board Member with BHP, I can see first-hand the impact that this organization has had on children and families who live in communities like the one I grew up in. Today more than ever, we must come together as a team to ensure a bright future for youngest citizens.
